Dr. Seuss and Dissertations
March 2nd is Dr. Seuss Day. Oh, the places you’ll…after you get your dissertation done!…
“Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple.”
— Dr. Seuss
Who isn’t familiar with Dr. Seuss these days? Theodor Seuss Geisel is celebrated each year on March 2nd for his life and his many accomplishments. Commonly known by his pen name, Dr. Seuss was a writer, poet, and cartoonist. His forty-six published children’s books inspired generation after generation of children and adults alike all over the world.
“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.”
— Dr. Seuss
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
— Dr. Seuss
Dr. Seuss has inspired millions around the world with his poetry. Elementary but wise. The answer may be complicated but the answer may be simpler than you think.
“Today you are YOU, that is TRUER than true. There is NO ONE alive who is YOUER than YOU!”
— Dr. Seuss
Although his books were written for children, he had amazing insight into the dissertation process, too…
You can get so confused
that you’ll start in to race
down long wiggled roads at a break-necking pace
and grind on for miles across weirdish wild space,
headed, I fear, toward a most useless place.
