Refired and Dissertations
March 1st is Refired, Not Retired Day. Have you lost a bit of the spark in your dissertation? If so, today’s the day to get back to being fired up!…
Despite life’s many obstacles and hurdles, Phyllis May made the cognitive decision to take action and take control over her life and not let her circumstances define her future. Entering her Golden Years, facing retirement just as her marriage was ending, Phyllis took her challenges and turned them into her inspirations.
Phyllis would permit excuses to get in her way of achieving her goals. Like a real-life Forrest Gump, she jumped from job after job, including stints as a concierge, a variety of temp worker, and running a bed and breakfast and then a gift shop. She never quit. She was fired up with determination and joie de vivre.
Eventually, she made it on television where she hosted her own show for a year. Later she became an author, promoting her first publication called “Keys to Paradise…a fun guide to Key West”.
Phyllis took life’s roadblocks and used them to take control and to keep her focus and aim for her goals. She didn’t sit and wallow, she didn’t give up, she moved on. She refused to become stagnate. She kept moving forward and never looked back.
